Marked was a very short read. It was, however, quite enjoyable. I loved the contemporary language that was used through the novel. It stood out from all the other novels that I have read. This one was very comparable to what you hear teenagers say. And since Zoey is a teenager, it was a very realistic read.

Every vampire novel has its own take on how vampires work and how they came to be. And House of Night is no stranger to that. I found it very interesting how P.C Cast added their own twist to vampires. Although I had some issues with this novel, I would have to say that the characters made up for my issues.

Definitely looking forward to reading further in to the series.
